Britain’s contribution to the Energy-efficient Automobiles of the future

The world is moving quickly in terms of technology- more in line with cleaner and greener energy sources to make our lives energy-efficient. Many nations have signed multiple treaties to combat climate change and the steps taken in this regard is said to have a far-reaching impact. Steps in this right direction taken is one such nation, which recently removed itself from the EU (European Union) to give its people a new lease of life and economic prosperity. A new plant to produce batteries for electric vehicles has been proposed to be set up in Britain which is going to be one of the largest plants the region has ever seen.

This particular plant is said to be one of the largest to power the maximum number of electric vehicles in the country. The magnitude of the investment can help the nation to make a smooth transition to the electric automotive in a shorter dateline than the anticipated of 2030, where all the nations are supposed to meet the goals of the COP26 goals on climate change.

BritishVolt with its partnership with the British government would invest together to start a 100 million euros worth ‘car battery manufacturing plant. Though the deal is yet to be finalised the proposal of investment would be close to the proposed amount. The plant would be set up in the northeast of England which has its partnership with a firm called Abrdn would have its major stakes along with Tritax. These companies along with the partnership with the government would prove to be a strong deal that would provide maximum job opportunities to its people. Once the plant is up and running the factory is said to provide close to 3000 plus jobs added to its market. This is said to be a good business investment since the nation plans to go in full electric as early as 2028, much ahead of the deadline of 2030. There are still talks with potential investors to make the setup of this mega project a reality.

The Prime Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson has a very strong belief that the setting up of this plant would make its economy more sustainable. He believes that this project would be the start of the global green revolution of the industrial age. Growth of electric vehicles in terms of sales would be the future and Britain would be the first to set the tone for the new age of automobiles in the region.

Considering this is the future of the world of automobiles and that climate change is one of the main threats of the world today, Britain’s step to tackle the issue is commendable. This would also help in generating new opportunities and employment for its people. Considering its competition from the Asian market such as Japan and China it's only a matter of time before Britain would understand its position in the world market.
